TYPE OF GOODS

Commonly Bartered
Goods & Services

When pricing goods or services for selling or buying it must be remembered that there are basically goods and services there are two classes:-

1. HARD GOODS
2. SOFT GOODS

HARD GOODS* - are USUALLY essential to all businesses and can be sold on a blend of cash and barter at normal prices such as: Computers, Machinery, Printing, Electrical goods, Vehicles, Equipment, etc.

SOFT GOODS** - are NOT ALWAYS essential to all businesses and cannot be sold twice or the next day and are usually sold on 100% Exchange at normal prices such as: Hotel rooms, Restaurant meals, Unsold air time, True surpluses, Labour & Time Redundant stock, etc.

However there are exceptions.

There are a large number of product categories available, they do not necessary all fit into the HARD/SOFT GOODS classification.

Example: A printer may have excess capacity where his machines are not fully utilised - this excess could therefore be classed as a SOFT GOOD but as printing is an essential part of a businesses everyday operations would also be classed as a HARD GOOD.

NOTE: * Members who are overdrawn with TBEx repay loans on 100% Exchange, unless with prior agreement.

NOTE: ** Soft goods do not reflect in any way the companies performance or reputation.
